Fundraising Drive Officially Closed As Kilcullen Playground Looks Imminent.
After so many years in the planning, Kilcullen looks set to get its
playground this year as preparations reach the final stages. The
fundraising drive launched in November last year is now officially
closed, having raised a magnificent €16,000. What a testament to the
community spirit that makes Kilcullen so unique! More
April 2010 Update:
The Committee has been working very hard to get the playground in Kilcullen finalised. The project is
now out to tendor with responses due by the start of May. Interested parties should take a look on
the etenders site or contact Kildare County Council. The expected start date is now September, with
the works to be completed very shortly after that.
The Committee has raised 15K since November and would like to thank everyone who has supported the
project so far. We hope to raise the remainder of the 50k needed from grants.

Kilcullen Playground Committee has been working since May 2005 to get a community playground for Kilcullen. It recently launched a fundraising drive to get the last €50,000 needed to bring the project to completion.
Scoil Bhríde will lease land to the Council for the playground which will have its entrance through the Community Centre car park. The project also includes improved road access onto the Newbridge Road and extra car parking in the area.
Tender documents for the playground are expected to be finalised by Council officials before Christmas, and the playground constructed during the Spring of 2010. The Council will contribute €200,000 of the total project budget of €250,000.
